Here comes the third | FS EAST 2018
The 2017 season just ended, and now everybody is looking forward to the details of the new challenges. We are proud that our previous event could reach the highest competitiveness level on the World Ranking List: 0,99. Since then we have not spent a day out of the movement, especially focusing on the development of FS East 2018. For the upcoming season we have some great news for you. Date & Venue
The official date of FS East 2018 is 18th-22nd July. On 18th of July the teams settle down and get their stuff on-site, while electric and driverless teams will also have the chance to get through e-scrutineering.
Formula Student East 2018 takes place at the brand new Zalaegerszeg Automotive Proving Ground in Hungary which is designed to become one of the most innovative test circuits in Europe for autonomous vehicles. You can find further information about the venue at zalazone.hu.

Categories
For the 2018 season we open 60 slots for teams in the following categories: 30 combustion, 20 electric & 10 driverless. CV, EV and DV teams compete separately with independent Endurance events and score counting.
Registration
For the 2018 event 7 teams are invited to pre-register, the overall top 6 and the best Hungarian team of the previous event:

- Formula Student Team Delft
- Rennteam Uni Stuttgart
- FS Team Tallinn
- CAT – Racing
- BME Formula Racing Team
If the teams accept our invitation they will get directly on the starter list.
Team registration opens on 9th of January, 2018 as teams have to create their account prior to the event registration.
The event registration will be available on 22nd of January, 2018 in two phases:
- 1st phase from 17:00 CET
- 2nd phase from 20:00 CET.
The event registration process is detailed in the Registration Rules which will be published in November, 2017.

Static events
The static events are going through a development process as well, which mainly affects the Cost Event. From this year the statics will comply with FSG’s Rules 2018 entirely.
FS Alumni World Summit
The FS Alumni World Summit is organised for the second time on the 1st day of FS East. We invite the alumni members of the teams to get to know each other, exchange their experiences or even make new connections in the automotive industry. We also encourage the summit attendants to stay with us for the rest of the competition days and join our crew as an official staff member.
Officials & Volunteers
As the event extended considering the number of teams and categories, we also aim to improve its technical and professional level. This year a lot of alumni members became FS East organisers from the Hungarian teams, so you may recognize some familiar faces from other events as well. We will share with you the official staff of the 2018 event soon.
